Guidelines for Authors

SiCL invites authors to submit high-quality articles by adhering to the following submission guidelines:

Originality and Exclusivity

  • Articles submitted to SiCL must be original and not under consideration for publication in any other journal or medium.
  • Submissions should contribute new knowledge or understanding within the fields of corpus linguistics, computational linguistics, and language data analysis.

Grammar and Plagiarism

  • Manuscripts should be thoroughly reviewed to ensure they are free of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.
  • All submissions will be checked for plagiarism. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected outright.

Formatting

  • Authors should format their manuscripts according to the APA (American Psychological Association, 7th edition) guidelines, ensuring consistency in writing and referencing.

Title Page

  • The first page of the manuscript should include:
    • The title of the article (in bold, not exceeding 12 words, and devoid of abbreviations or unnecessary words).
    • Authors' full names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses.
    • A brief introduction for each author (5-7 sentences) highlighting their educational background, research interests, and achievements.

Abstract Page

  • The second page should contain:
    • The title of the article (font size 16, Times New Roman).
    • An abstract (200-250 words, font size 12, Times New Roman) that succinctly summarizes the main objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.
    • Five keywords that represent the core topics discussed in the article.
  • The word “Abstract” should be centered and bolded at the top of the abstract section.
  • The abstract text should be justified.

Main Text and References

  • The main body of the manuscript should begin on the third page and include:
    • A clear and logical structure with appropriate headings and subheadings to guide the reader through the content.
    • Manuscripts should be typed in MS Word, using a standard font such as Times New Roman, size 12, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins on all sides.
    • Articles should be paginated, with the total word count ranging between 6,000 and 8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
  • References should be listed at the end of the manuscript in accordance with APA (7th edition) guidelines, providing full bibliographic information for all cited works.

Headings and Subheadings

  • Headings and subheadings should be clearly distinguished and each should be placed on a separate line to enhance readability.
  • Use a consistent hierarchy of headings (e.g., Level 1, Level 2, etc.) as specified in APA (7th edition).
